A major setback.

I would expect Gould to be well ahead of Byrne, as the latter hasn't played any competitive football for in excess of two months (and even during the closing stages of his loan spell at Cork City, Byrne was replaced by Tiernan Brooks, who is scheduled to make his debut for Rochdale on Tuesday evening).

Reading John Laidlaw's update you make of what you will of Parky's quote. Missing tonight and unlikely to miss several more. Much prefer to face Rochdale with Ethan around. If it's rained off tonight I presume that's the TV money gone. Tricky to chose which option I want.

I'm sure Ollie Byrne will be on the released list in the summer - he just wasn't good enough, it's as simple as that. He's still young and will hopefully be happy somewhere else.

The fact that he's not already been loaned out would seem to suggest he's still in Parky's plans to some extent. Let's just hope that isn't tonight. If he's ever to have a role here he's got to be eased in. Perhaps the game at Hyde? Certainly not a crucial one such as tonight.
Personally, I think we're having trouble finding someone to take him.

I made prayers to the main gods of each religion he was signed by Rochdale. I think they heard, but checked the wrong cork city keeper on transfermarkt.
