There was an article on the BBC website somewhere too. The outlook is dire for them, this is already a 'Phoenix' club.

Juniors and academy are separate legal entities and will continue but pretty much the end (again) for the senior club.

CLUB STATEMENT
Thursday 18th January, 2024

We regret to announce that Nuneaton Borough FC will be withdrawing from this season's Southern Central Premier League.

Despite the dedicated efforts of our sponsors and officials, the club faces insurmountable challenges in maintaining operations.

Our legal advisors have confirmed that the offer put forward to purchase Liberty Way will not be considered, and no new lease will be given to any entity.

Unfortunately, armed with this information our future investors have had to withdraw any future support.

Furthermore, without additional investment or new investors to provide financial support, the club is unable to continue trading.

In light of these circumstances, we are now considering the liquidation process.

This decision comes with a heavy heart, and we deeply appreciate the unwavering support from our loyal fans and the football community during this challenging time.

The third time now by my maths that the senior football club in Nuneaton has gone bust since ooh the late 80s. I don’t think they should bother setting up another one.

Be sad to see Nuneaton disappear , they were one of our main challengers in the early years of the APL and have had a number of good FA cup runs of note too . Beat Stoke and drew with Middlesborough in the noughties .  Largest town in Warwickshire with near 90,000 population.

And not forgetting gave us one of the finest goalkeeping displays ever seen at Moss Lane. A 3-0 FA Cup win in 2001 was built by world class save followed by world class save from Coburn. I'm sure there's grained camcorder footage on Youtube somewhere, remember watching it and you can hear Ecky, who was on tannoy duty, shouting 'Go on Rod' repeatedly as he scores the 3rd  :D

One of my earliest memories of Nuneaton was the comfortable home victory during the FA Cup run that saw us eventually knocked out by Darlington when they were still a league club.

From memory I think it was the same cup run that brought us the memorable replay victory at Lancaster (Lee Poland hat trick?) and when we played Nuneaton they were flying quite high in the Conference at the time - whereas we were a Unibond outfit. I think there was a penalty / red card quite early on.
