« on: November 08, 2023, 09:39:56 AM »

Seems an age since the hard fought at Oldham. No idea if any players are back from injury.

             Ross

Banks.   Cooper.  Baines.   Jones

        Osbourne.   Marriott

    Newby.   Con-Clarke.   Amaluzor

               Angus

Alty 2-2 Southend. (Con-Clarke, Banks)

It'd be nice if Linney was fit enough for a run out.

Possibly Kozzy first, but it still sounds like Regan might be a while away.

His leg's still been in a cast (or certainly one of those jackets they put around them these days) whenever I've seen pictures / videos.

That's great news. Probably starting on the bench? Coming on for the last half hour?

Think I'd still start Banks and bring Donawa on at some point.

I stand corrected in that place! Having Regan back will be a HUGE boost.

He tormented Southend last season, winning and scoring the penalty (that was Southend wasn't it?)

This is defo our best 11, apart from Banks. Surely, Marriott over Banks in CM?
Think he will start Linney on the bench, but need him to have decent amount of mins.

Thought Banks did enough to keep his place.
PP might not be pleased with the suspension, may have to earn his place back.

If anyone thinks Banks should or will play in midfield over Marriott is quite frankly barking mad

I'd happily take a hard fought draw in this one. Southend are a very tidy side on a great run themselves and would be above us without their points deduction. I think a good performance in a competitive match wouldn't be the worst outcome here. Southend have also had a 2 week break so it's all even on that front.
