Oldham FA Cup Match Thread
« on: October 11, 2023, 12:23:27 PM »

...so the management have a bit of a decision to make regarding which system to use; I'm sure I speak for most in saying I think we should revert back to 4-2-3-1:

                   Ross
Banks  Cooper  Baines  E.Jones
       Marriott(c)  Osborne
Amaluzor  Conn-Clarke  Newby
                  Angus

Could be well off, but I'm thinking the inclusion of James Jones last night means he's thinking of starting with 4-2-3-1 and Jake Cooper for the weekend, because I doubt he would have felt Jones needed the match fitness after the full 90 against Gateshead. Dior Angus needs to keep his minutes up too.

That's the obvious selection - and I agree with it. But what do we know? 😏

As an armchair manager, I would go with same lineup.

We'll see on Saturday.

Both teams are in form. Really looking forward to this one. Anyone any idea how many tickets we’ve sold?

Someone bought ticket 1378 yesterday morning I believe, slowly ticking over and now taking cash on the gate.

Never realisticly going to get anywhere near 5,000 in so should have been pay at gate from square one .  Remember the Barnsley game being foolishly made all ticket and we lost a packet with only 2,500 attending.

My thoughts exactly.

I understand Oldham are currently managerless too, but that may change before tomorrow I guess.

Easy to say in hindsight, I suppose... but ultimately it's a fourth qualifying round game, I'm not sure why they thought we'd be threatening anything much above 3,000.
