Goal Scorers
« on: September 01, 2023, 11:59:22 AM »

It should be noted that Wrexham won promotion last season with Paul Mullin scoring 80 goals in 92 matches in the two seasons he was with them.

Likewise, Langstaffe at Notts County, the other successful promotees, scored 44 goals in 50 matches. These are the sort of statistics that we are going to need to produce if we are to be serious contenders for promotion.  Can we do it?

Our goal scoring is likely to be more than adequate. It will be shared amongst quite a few getting well into double figures.

PS. That's much better for us as it gives us more threats and is harder to counteract.

Obviously not. I meant more potential threats to nullify.

Not strictly correct - Mullins and Lanstaffe exceptional......what did Stockport have in terms of scorers to win it ? Likewise Crawley etc.

Preposterous I know, but if we won 30 games 1 nil we would be champions...maybe....30 goals spread between two scorers is a modest 15 each

I would be happy with that.

The league seems far more open this season, and I can't see the dominance of Wrexham/Notts being such a factor this year.
