With the exception of the pricey-looking main stand... is Fylde's home the most obvious template for our own ground redevlopment?

Much of it looks quite straightforward and of the right sort of capacity to work at our place.

Thought ground was modern and good facilities. Unobstructed views etc.

I have avoided Mill Farm like the plague for many years but I was actually pleasantly surprised with the place on Monday. Yes, it could very well be a blue print for us.

That new home end houses 1,850 which would be ample for Golf Road - I wonder how much it cost on its own.

Similarly the stand running lengthways opposite their main one would probably be enough for the Popular Side; we could probably go a bit deeper than theirs if we needed to.

The more I think about it the less I can see us hanging around Moss Lane if we are serious about league football.

Any investment seems like money thrown away. after all, the land is too small for a 10k seated stadium type thing. And the neighbours didn't like us getting new floodlights that reduced light leakage so imagine an increased structure being applied for.

This all being said, the pop side is a mess and was 20 years ago so Fyldes equivalent would be a just perfect stop gap before we move in to our 30,000 seat stadium on St George's pond ready for the champions league.

No, you've drank too much.

I agree with Amsterdam Alty - we should look at alternative sites for a new ground. Much as I love Moss Lane, there's not much that you can do to grow capacity.

The only way I reckon it could be feasibly done is the 90 degree rotation... however I reckon there's probably more chance of us qualifying for the Champions League than being able to buy allotment land from the council.

I'd settle for the pop side done up and some lavs on the family stand side of the main stand.

Not handy to walk to but their is quite a bit of land by the M56 junction near bowdon, cant be worth much as the motorway and sliproad are there.

Me too I don't want to  see a new ground being built

Don't worry it won't be.
I love it on here and I love us Alty fans. Six unbeaten (including four draws) and we all start dreaming in public. (myself included!) 😉

I’m surprised anyone would want to move to one of those soulless out of town stadiums that are popping up. York, Colchester, Fylde. Shrewsbury, Oxford. They’re all the same and seem incredibly bleak, lack character and are universally disliked by football fans.

Moss Lane needs work but I’d much rather we spent a certain amount on upgrading the ground rather than considering a move to one of these places. We can spend a relatively small amount on immeasurably improving the pop side, you could improve the away end, the main stand can be redeveloped. Even the Golf Road can be redesigned and changed.

There’s lots that can be done here very effectively before considering a move to a building site just off the M56

I liked the curved roofs and stylish floodlights at Fylde and thought the whole design had been tastefully worked out. 6000 capacity too was not overbearing.
