The season we manage to beat both Boreham Wood & Bromley at home we’ll get promoted…one day.

Tough assignments coming up now with two of the top four in our next 3 matches with the other at Wealdstone who we still haven’t managed to score a goal at their ground since they came back up. Think by the Maidenhead game we’ll have a good idea of how the season will pan out (somewhere slightly lower than our current position IMO).

If we can end up winning as many as we lose, that'll be fine by me this year and see us finish top half for the first time in a long while.
Having said that however, we could finish higher if we learn from the last few games and make a couple of key signings (as has been said elsewhere).
As has also been said, by the end of the month we'll have a much clearer picture one way or the other. 🤞

Agree with most of the above, but if you think Ross is no better than Byrne you need a new hobby
Ross is better than Ollie for sure, but feel we can do better. As with Onana today for utd, third goal, Ross positioning for 2nd goal was poor, he froze when should come and close the angle. Nit picking maybe but we need to improve and also back 4.

Every time a high ball from a set piece comes into our box my heart is in my mouth. It's not a lack of height, and I'm not entirely sure why we're so vulnerable.

I think it’s a lack of heart not height. If I was in the trenches I’d want Maddox and Talbot, Timmons and Ellender, France and Reid, Bailey and Owens along side me not Jones and Roscoe.

PP wants his defenders to be good footballers rather than good defenders and imo he’s wrong. The back 5 are there to stop the other team scoring the front 6 are for playing football

Our defenders need to let the opposition strikers know they are there from the off, with some firm but fair tackles, also if PP insists on keep picking James Jones then he needs to be in the centre of defence not out on the flanks, wingers skin him far too often.

We really need to make a decision on what our first choice centre back pairing is and stick with it to build understanding.
Back four instead of three centre backs focused on too.
For me, Baines should be a must.
Also, our captain needs taking out of the firing line for a break.

Absolutely agree that we need to make a choice re. first choice centre backs. For me it's Baines and Jones but given they had a torrid time last season, have we actually improved in this department.

Laughing my head off that anyone thinks Ross is no better than Ollie.

Alty..... 4    Bromley..... 1

Att. 1,924

Actual attendance was 1,921 and was just 3 out.  A great guess I thought.

Actual goals scored by Alty was also just 3 out and was a bloody awful guess!

Can't understand why Baines doesm't get a game. Maybe his face doesn't fit

It's a puzzle to me. I've always thought he was the most dependable and solid of our centre backs. Especially in a back four. Voluble too unlike some of the others. A leader.

Baines 100% has to start every game, whether it be a 3/5/4 whatever. He is our best defender. I’m guessing he may be slightly injured. I’m sure PP would be playing him otherwise?
