While there are plenty of plaudits quite rightly flying around on this thread, I'd like to give a shout-out to Lewis Banks who was excellent yesterday, particularly in the way that he made himself available to receive the ball in areas where he could move it on to colleagues effectively.

Incredible from 1 to 11 yesterday and very exciting times ahead. The team is oozing confidence and you can’t underestimate the power of a strong goalkeeper.

More of the same tomorrow please lads

The euphoric denouement almost evoked memories of a 1970s Alty FA Cup giant-killing act!

Chesterfield dominated the first half, albeit whilst creating few goalscoring opportunities. Disappointing to concede such a cheap goal from that corner.

As the second half progressed, you could sense that Alty were building up momentum and Dior Angus' two clinical finishes certainly helped to dispel my initial reservations about him. Let's hope that he can stay fit and maintain that high standard.

The renaissance of Elliot Osborne has been an unanticipated and hugely welcome bonus. I thought that he was outstanding yesterday.

As others have mentioned in this thread, the depth of our squad remains the major concern. We are going to have to get very lucky as regards injuries and suspensions.
