Seems like the total transfer fee could be £100k, if we're due 25%, or, £250k, if we're getting 10% of it.

At first glance it seems reasonable to suggest that the Milkmen will do well out of this (if it is indeed true) and that we will have missed a trick.

However, James Berry has got himself an Agent (World in Motion) who will undoubtedly take a sizeable chunk and hefty legal fees may also impact on the final balance.

Additionally, I would also expect Chesterfield to insist on phased payment dependent upon James completing a specified number of appearances and/or number of goals.

I would be interested to know if our sell-on clause continues in perpetuity, just in case, he might end up at the Etihad.

That is the figure I was told on Wednesday.....although at the time the deal had been agreed......but not done.

Player was spotted leaving Chesterfield at 4pm yesterday.

I was told he had a release clause and although Robbie Savage objected he was powerless to prevent the move

The last I heard was that Chesterfield weren't happy with Macclesfield's own suggested sell on clause, which was holding it up.

It did seem a bit strange that we'd let him go entirely - but if the lad was unwilling to sign a new contract it was probably the best solution at the time.

Possibly dragging their heels until they got their own deal done - begrudgingly it looks like a decent bit of business from them.

Not ideal for Warrington - it doesn't look like they're too pleased...

What they really spent the money on.

Watch the first few minutes of this and you can see why he was sent out to Macc on loan. He obviously saw with Kosylo, Mooney, Ceesay and then Colclough he would have no chance of playing in our first team. Re-building his confidence at the low level Macc play at was a good move and they offered us a serious fee for an NWCL player. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aaC9eoGtSiw

Yes and if we are going to get any amount of cash as a kick-back as a result it will be a remarkable bit of business from our end given that he never kicked a ball in a competitive game for us.  £25k would be astonishing and whilst it may seem fortuitous it has not just been 'a stroke of luck'.

Moreover, it is a demonstration of planned resource husbandry.  Well Done again.

Warrington replace Duffy with... Aaron Bennett!

Geuninely hope he gets his career back on track with them.

If he pulls himself together and slims down a little, this could be the turning point of his career. There's some good lads at Warrington. Best of luck Aaron.

Went to Warrington today, Bennett did not have a great game, he looks lazy to me. Tony Thompson made 2 excellent saves in 2nd half.
Finished 2-0 to Blyth and both teams finished with 10 men.
