So how do we think tonight will go?
I'm going for a strong side (at least in the first half) and a narrow victory.
Come on you Robins 👍 🇦🇹

5-1 Goal fest and a clanger conceded! A defensive/GK mistake or a classic own goal

Consistency is the key. I'm going for a solid defeat.

With that sort of forecast, I hope you've entered the new Alty Predictor competition!

Won 1-0 with a first half Donawa goal - strong starting XI.

I think being an Alty fan for almost sixty years is bound to give you a little bit of perspective despite what the younger prognostigators might say! 😉

I couldn't go - how did we line up formation-wise? From the way it was listed on Twitter it seems we reverted back to our traditional 4231 with the two Justins on the wings?

First half we played as you say typically, quite a high energy match, pitch was ok, wythy were full of energy and pressed hard, we made a few openings and never looked like conceding tbh. Second half we had 3 trialists on and other fringe players mostly. But still looked comfortable overall. There keeper made a few saves and we hit post. Overall a good workout with only 3 friendlies remaining after last night!!

Angus Dior I assume is injured as no sign of him since Lancaster.

If that was our 1st, rather than 4th game, I'd be pleased - only poor finishing let us down.

As always Wythenshawe put up a stern test, They're well drilled but you can see the players adapting to Phil's style. Both Justin and Joey continue to impress. I was always impressed first half on Saturday by the same 3.

We could do with a Goalkeeper featuring against Manchester United or Macclesfield if we are going to bring in new blood - rather than Mee coming in cold mid-season.

With further regards to Ollie Byrne. The poor lad has come through much criticism on this forum recently so I felt it just as important to see positives in him, which there are many. Saw him in the 2nd half of the Wythy game. The girls and I greeted his entrance to the pitch with a loud and perfectly audible 'C'mon Ollie' which he waved to in acknowledgement. I was pleased about that! Though he did not have many opportunities for any major saves tonight, I thought he did really well with his ball distribution. Some of his spreading of the ball to the two Justin's was inch perfect, and it was like having an additional sweeper at the back. Our players had trust in him during the game and used him to play the ball back to as and when necessary and I noted how confident he was with his distribution. I was also impressed with our back four players as they confidently dealt with everything Wythy threw at them. I did not think they were too bad a side either and think they may do well in their league, but I found our performance comfortable throughout and I enjoyed the game very much. Ollie I think will settle and this game will have upped his confidence a bit, I do feel much better after watching him at this game. His link with the full backs and also the wingers will be very important and may start off many attacks if he maintains the distribution from that game.

I would also like to thank Wythenshawe for their friendly treatment of me as a restricted mobility fan, in particular allowing me to use the disabled spot with my Blue Badge. They made myself and the girls very welcome and made it a good spectator experience.

Their Pork Scratchings are delicious too!!
