Alty-Friendly Pubs around and about.
« on: July 03, 2023, 07:47:11 PM »

I called in at the Railway Inn at Mobberley a few days ago and they have a fixture list, albeit the last one, on the notice board in the vault.

The nearby Chapel House used to be a favourite haunt of some Alty Directors in the 1970s/1980s but I see that it has gone now converted into a private dwelling.

Costello's in Altrincham has, or had,  a similar fixture list up.

I haven't been there for ages, but the Old Market Tavern did have a full page advert in the programme not too long ago, although it seems to have disappeared now. Perhaps pubs are seen as competitors to the CSH and Fanzone?

Not that many round where we live. In fact you'd be surprised at how many dirty looks we can get in the local whilst wearing our Alty tops. Don't understand it. 🤔

PS. Doesn't stop us doing it occasionally though.
(especially when we used to beat Chester) 😉
