Lancaster City match thread

Yes, I know I'm a bit early, but, as I'd planned to go to this game, and then have a few beers in one of the best boozing spots in North West England, I am gutted to discover that there's a bloody train strike scheduled.

Whatever happened to those nominated driver types. Did they ever really exist?

On going into the details of the industrial action, it's not a full strike but an overtime ban. Both Northern and Avanti say that they expect to operate "more or less a full service" so I should be able to get there OK.

What does the starting eleven look like if the best eleven are picked?

I take it from years of experience Northern saying they expect to run more or less a normal service to mean the train you are planning to get will be cancelled.

Wonder if we'll have a couple of trialists on show tomorrow or if the squad we've got is actually complete?
What do people think?

I'd go for some new names to have a show with trial players having at least 45 minutes to do something to attract the eye.

More importantly, we will have commentary on Radio Alty?

It would be the first time we didnt have trialists if that happened.

I think it was said a while back that rather than the friendlies being auditions for trialists as in previous years, it might be the case that we use them to fine tune the existing squad so they're ready to hit the ground running vs Dagenham.
Having said that however, one or two trialists wouldn't be too much of a surprise.

I wonder if, with the 4 graduates from the academy, there is any space for anyone else in the squad.

That's true, but won't they be sent on loan to clubs higher in the pyramid than before?

Perhaps NPL or even NLN.

So how do people think it will end up today?
I realise the result is a minor consideration at best but I'm going for an encouraging 3 or 4-1.
