...and so we see the return of Fylde next season, who have just about managed to clinch the NLN title.

I can see Chester winning the playoffs - I know we've diacussed it before but I'm genuinely torn whether that's a good thing or not - good to have a local rival but surely we'll be in the market for the same players too.

Says everything about how bonkers the playoff battle was that Chorley spent the half time break in the playoff spots, only to end the afternoon in 12th place.

Kidderminster in hot form - can see it being a Chester v Kiddy final. We can resume our annual dire trip to Aggborough with a great consolation pie...

I'd like Chester up but can see it being Kings Lynn.

Forget the pie - the caterers have gone now. I'll settle for a jaunt on the Severn Valley Railway.

Can't see past King's Lynn. Appear to be very strong at home.

Chester stand a good chance with their away form and will have lots of support behind them. If Kiddy can get to the final, at probably Chester, that game would be wide open.
Obviously, Chester promotion would be very convenient but Kiddy would be good too.

Chester v Kiddy would be a great final... two big clubs who should be at NL level really.

I think I'm leaning towards Kiddy (if it were those two) as there's definitely players at Chester who might get impatient waiting for promotion if they don't do it this year.

Also, looking at a map, I suspect we'll be paired with Fylde next Boxing Day / NYD... oh joy.

Halifax will be moved over to York because of Hartlepool coming in (who will obviously get Gateshead); Oldham might possibly lose their Notts pairing, so I suspect they'll do the easy thing and give them Rochdale. If Chester come up, they'll replace Wrexham in pairing with Solihull.

I believe the Severn valley is struggling a bit with lack of volunteers and less customers using it

Sadly, this did not appear to end well, following the death of Brian Murdoch during COVID.
Brian & his wife Joan ran what is still the finest food outlet I have experienced to date at a football ground anywhere in the world:-

Can't we invite them to supply use with their pies?

We need someone. The cheese and onion pasties and sausage rolls leave quite a bit to be required. (imvho)

I'm not proud. I'd settle for Hollands! 😉
