Never before have I seen people - and quite a large group of people - celebrate a goal at a game which has nothing to do with the game they are watching. A group of youths at Eastleigh did this today though, apparently celebrating Southampton's comeback. They seemed more interested in rowing with the stewards than in the game. I wonder if they were there under a free tickets scheme? They seemed the type. They also wanted to know if that was all we take away (about 40 of us). I must say, if anyone did make it to all six away games, especially Eastleigh and Yeovil, it was a tremendous effort! I seem to remember though that Eastleigh took less than ten to Moss Lane one Tuesday night (or that was what it looked like anyway) - and after getting a crowd of two or three thousand in their previous home match! I don't think we've ever taken less than ten anywhere in anything, not while I've been watching anyway.

Of course, people who watch other teams are to be seen at many non-league clubs, and perhaps more so at plasticky clubs like Eastleigh and "Solihull Moors", but it was a bit surreal hearing people chanting about an unrelated game. I suppose not entirely surprising when you look at where Eastleigh is, but still. (I believe a group of Bradford City supporters turned up at Cemetery Road once too).

If it's any consolation I cheered Alty's winner at York while sat in the Etihad watching Haaland put five past RB Leipzig the other night.

42 for the season now (and eight in two games). He'll be beating Jackie Swindells at this rate!

I suppose he didn't go on loan to Ashton during the world cup in the end?...
