Eastleigh match thread
« on: March 16, 2023, 04:12:33 PM »

I'd go with the following lineup (but I'm not PP) :

                           BYRNE

PERRITT      J.JONES.    BAINES.      E.JONES

HULME.        LUNDSTRAM.  MARRIOTT.   SINCLAIR

                          OYEDELE

                          LINNEY

Subs : Gould, Ferguson, Pringle, Osborne, Goodson

I fancy a 2-2 draw.

One foot, I agree.

Long slog to get there and any points gained will be a bonus.

It will the go to 4-2-3-1 with that 11.

Eastleigh were quite poor at our manor but a draw would a decent point.

Same 11, but would have Hugill on the bench.

Hoping he gives Linney the full 90. Need to be getting him up to speed for the entire 90. Surprised he was subbed over Hugill at York, he was getting us forward.

Marriott, Lundstram and Oyedele played well again on Tuesday. I like those three together, albeit Maxi plays no.10 but does drops to win balls back.

Still feel we are a wide player short. At least an option on the bench, maybe that is Goodson.

Eastleigh are very strong at home (played: 19; won: 13; drawn: three and lost: three), where they have accumulated 42 points out of their current total of 60.

They have a habit of winning 1-0.

I'd start with the team above, but we could do with Linney scoring a handful between now and the end of the season, rather than starting about bagging 8 and being on other clubs summer radar.

The more I think about it, the more I think he might try the three at the back again - especially away from home.

It got the wing backs right up the pitch.

Maybe that's why Linney was withdrawn the other night, because he plays in both systems.

Hulme for Linney the only change to the starting eleven.
Bennett for Cashman sole change for the bench.

Come on you Supers!

Partially correct I suppose!

Come on lads - a point will do nicely but let's wait and see.

Radio Robins commentary really irritating today. 1) because it keeps cutting out and 2) because the commentator seems to find Alty playing badly is somehow funny.
