Whisper it quietly...

...could we have found a centre forward?

IF, and its a big IF, we play to his strength of channel balls

...with a top number 10 making the surge forward into the box to receive his ball.

Warriors out there today.
Back 4 won a lot of the battles, Byrne more confident.
Lundstram drivng forward.
Marriott just being immense as always.
Think we have found our no.9 in Linney. Relentless work rate.
Still feel we need at least one winger in the starting 11.
I do like the look of Oyedele, feel we improved when he cam on in the extra mid/10 position. Liked how we had players wanting to get into the box for once.
Still sh*t at corners though.
Bizzing with that result.

Barnet turned over comfortably at Wealdstone today.

Suddenly feeling more hopeful that we might be able to get a result over there in the week.

Cashman took the brunt of our anxiety midweek. He was much, much better today. Osborne is improving too. Onwards and upwards.

Wealdstone beat York. It was Torquay who beat Barnet after losing to them in the Trophy last week.

Ah yes you're right, I don't know where I got that from!

I think I was keeping one eye on York's result too - surely their form is too bad for it to continue all the way to our meeting with them...

Very good win and well deserved 3 points, well done to Parky, Sorvs and the lads.

Thought we dominated midfield for large parts - Isaac Marriott and Josh Lundstram were superb and Elliot Osbourne deserves credit for putting in another solid performance again. Jordan also had another decent game and Regan Linney looks like a decent signing.

Not sure how Woking got so high in the table playing like that though, seemed a lot of southern aerial-pumpo-ball, a bit like Bromley but not as good.

Yeah, hopefully Bennett can get up to match speed quickly. Elsewhere, we were outstanding today and really battled hard.

It was all looking worryingly ominous after about 20 minutes. 1-0 down, almost inevitably via a free header from Dackers (with whom we had been linked when he was on loan at Southend earlier this season), and with the team looking rather disjointed at that juncture.

Thankfully, we began to create a few openings and were somewhat gifted a penalty by means of an irresponsible challenge by their defender.

Much better performance in the second half and high-flying Woking were made to look rather ordinary and one-dimensional.

Marriott was superb in midfield, yet again.

Linney appears to be a very promising addition.

Alas, I'm not convinced at all by the lightweight Cashman. The game seems to just pass him by.

A huge sigh of relief after such an unexpected outcome. Plus dear old floundering Rochdale lost again, which always gladdens my bitter heart.

We will win 4-1

Again, close but no cigar! I'm now dreading you saying we'll beat York 2-1 in the Trophy...

Was the awarding of that free-kick to Woking in the first half as bad as it looked to us, then?

Fantastic result that. I couldn’t make it because of family commitments unfortunately but if you’d told me at 10pm on Tuesday night we’d beat Woking 3-1 today I’d have been amazed, some turnaround. Linney already looks the real deal.

On a separate note, having seen some good historical research on Twitter, the average points tally to stay up since the league went to four down has been 46, although closer to 50 is not uncommon. Suspect we therefore might still need another 2-3 wins alongside a handful of draws.

Rochdale having collected 1/12 in the four games since Toby joined them & now 6 points adrift of safety is very amusing too.

After a shocking first 15 minutes we were very good for the rest of the game. Defensively so so strong and to have an outlet like Linney now gives us a new dimension that we didn't have before.

The one negative I can think of is Cashman. Extremely lightweight struggles to beat a man and honestly just extremely lazy. Looks like an attitude problem with him.
