His tone in the radio interview the other day clearly suggested that he's here for the long term (whatever that means). I took it to mean that he believes he can progress us a good deal more over the next few years and given his excellent relationship with the board (and the fans!) and the backing he's had clearly also believes (quite rightly) that the grass isn't always greener elsewhere.
