Surely the game might be in doubt...?

Been peeing it down all morning here.

Brightening up here but hoping our FT groundsman has had a plan in place all week

A couple of seasons ago it'd probably be off but I'd be surprised now with our new pitch.

Is there going to be a pitch inspection or is the game definitely on?

Set to be sunny and breezy from here on in, with some heavy stuff due back in towards the end of the game.

If it's fine as we speak, then we're all good I reckon.

Upstage Halifax and have the pitch inspection accompanied by Fanfare for the Common man?

We have rightly cricised other clubs for calling games off late and for what happened at Halifax on NYD, but we're clearly not much better, even more so when we are playing a team from some distance away. You would assume Bromley travelled up yesterday, but when you know their fans would be having an early start, surely you would have procedures in place to have an early inspection if required. Bit of a shambles.

In the club's defence, the pitch would have gone from playable to unplayable between 9-11 this morning.

I thought the heaviest rain had passed through by 8.00am, and don't think the rain since then was that heavy or lasted particularly long. Surely people would have been at the ground by 9.00 on a match day and realised there could be a problem with the pitch?

TBF Halifax after stating earlier in the day that there would be no need for a pitch inspection then gave out zero information on their official channels for 5 hours & only confirmed it was on 40 minutes before KO & that KO was being put back by 15 minutes. I know it’s no defence for their 30 or so Bromley fans who will have come up today but the rain from about 9-10 round here this morning was spectacular so a 0900 pitch inspection wouldn’t have been much use anyway. This is the first time too tbf that I can think our relaid pitch has let us down. I feel for Bromley but don’t quite agree with all the FUME I’m seeing on the Twitter.

bit alarming this. yes it rained heavily overnight, yes we've had some heavy rain in the last few days, but since this pitch was laid we've had some spells of consistent heavy rain before. why was the the standing water standing? are the drains blocked already? and if so why not being checked and maintained?

Not sure why Alty would wait until 11.56 to tweet that there was to be a pitch inspection. Surely this could have been announced earlier, especially as it had barely rained for two hours previous to this.
