Floodlights
« on: September 14, 2022, 09:22:49 AM »

There seems to be a problem with the floodlights at Alty just lately. Not for the first time in recent games they seem to be tripping out whilst they get reset or whatever they have to do to get them back on.

I was wondering if anyone could throw any light on this problem…😉

Yes, I was saying that to my Dad last night, I can’t recall which games but definitely not the first time in the recent past. We need to have them double checked and get on top of it as any problems in our next home midweek game vs Oldham and their doubtless huge support next month could be a huge embarrassment to the club & also risk disorder at what will doubtless be a very challenging game off the pitch.

I remember Cathal Morrison joining the board and saying that the electrics needed redoing. Looks like it's still on the to do list.

They certainly do seem to require some serious attention.

From John Laidlar's match report on the home fixture versus Torquay United on Saturday, 22nd January 2022:

"During the interval, all of the Popular Side floodlights went out and both teams went off the pitch. The referee would not restart the game and for a short time, the Main stand floodlights were also extinguished. Getting on for ten minutes late, the second half finally got underway."
