Yeovil Match Thread
« on: August 17, 2022, 09:15:00 AM »

Not a must win game but we really do need to score more than Yeovil.

Nothing we can do about the long term injuries to Marriott and Kosylo but this keepet situation is a farce.

                               Mee

Barrows.  Mullarkey.  Jones.   Brockbank

                Osborne.        Lundstram

    Sami.      Conn-Clarke.    Colclough

                          Hulme

Quite easily swap Bennett for Sami and put Sami in the 10. Or indeed Cooper or Baines for Jones

Alty 2-0 Yeovil (Hulme Colclough)

Its a very optimistic score prediction tbh.

Quicker we go 3-5-1 or 4-3-3 the better inho

I think it's as close to a must win game as you can get at this early stage, given the following 3 fixtures. Draw or lose and there's a very real possibility of going the first 7 winless.

Would definitely play Sami from the start, but I'd be looking at bringing in a striker ASAP, or I feel we could be in a bit of bother.

                           Byrne

Barrows  Mullarkey  Jones/Baines   Brockbank

                Osborne Lundstram

    Sami            Pringle            Colclough

                          Hulme

Surely we'll have Byrne available. Need to be calling the Welsh FA every 5 mins.

Hard not to start Baines. I have only seen the one game but sounds like he is making the majority of the blocks.

Definitely think Sami needs a run of games. I have confidence he  could be our new Mooney but needs the chance. Mooney took a while to establish himself so give this lad that time. We need his pace and direct play.

I would start Pringle no.10, not always one for experience but need a quicker thinking player at no.10. Con-Clarke runs into trouble or doesn't see the pass Pringle can make. Also Ben can strike a ball.

We then have Bennett and CCC to bring on.

No point bringing in a striker if there not going to get any service, which the No9 currently doesn't get much from what I've seen.

Dinanga looked good last night. I like Hulme,  but Dinanga seized his chance and was unlucky not to equalise last night.

I’m glad to hear Dinanga is improving. He had a very good loan spell last season. Parky obviously sees his worth which in fairness a lot of us on here didn’t last season (me included).

I’m sure once we get a settled formation, we will start an upward trend in the league.

If the Welsh FA or whoever else is responsible, get their arses into gear and sort out Ollys registration will be good for everybody

I think our problem was two selfish wingers,  who by rights wanted to cut in a shoot,  and it worked.

Not sure I agree with this weird consensus that we need to start Samizadeh - I'll file that one alongside James Hardy (released by Chester this summer). Sami will have his chances but he was signed up as a triallist for a reason.

Not sure I agree that we start benching the likes of Conn-Clarke and Bennett three games in either.

Sometimes I think we're far too reactionary after adverse results and we have to accept that this new-look team is going to take a little while to bed in.

A home game against a poor Yeovil team could be exactly what this first XI needs right now.

That's really tempting fate there mate!
Add to that, it's my birthday 🎂 tomorrow so I'm expecting a early birthday present of three points this afternoon!

Famous last words eh?!

Hoping for a 2-0 win, but any win would be most acceptable. 😎

You also give players a chance when others aren't playing so well or influencing games.
Clear as day that we need a tricky, pacey direct player out wide so give Sami a few games. What I have heard from the game time he has been given, including friendlies, is very encouraging.
He deserves a start.
I think we need to drop either Con-Clarke or Bennett.

It's true that Sami did a nice Maradona against Trafford U15s.

A sluggish start, I am more than confident of our abilities to compete. Two key players with injuries doesn't help but we will find a way through that.

We're out of the relegation slots.
Only one defeat in four.
The only way is up 👆

Come on you Robins! 😉
