Radio Manchester and Oldham
« on: August 13, 2022, 04:03:12 PM »

I've always been of the understanding that Radio Manchester only carry commentary of league games due to the number of league clubs in their catchment area, and they simply wouldn't have the capacity to commentate on the county's non-league teams except on rare occasions.

So how come they are carrying commentary of non-league Oldham Athletic versus Dorking this evening?

It's the BBC. They think it's a Div Two game. 🤣🤣🤣

Given there's a BBC controller among Alty's shareholders I imagine they have a fair idea which league Oldham are in.

Oldham are going to be a nice story for the media this season. Ex PL, train wreck off the pitch and now they have a new owner who's a bit of a character.

They had over 8,000 there yesterday against a newly promoted club that's hardly a household name. It's about the demand and the audience.

Yes. We haven't won yet and we've still earned two more points than them.
