When it comes to our playing staff there's often a very fine line between satisfying the curiosity of fans and alerting the opposition of things that they could do without knowing, so I get why some things have to stay quiet.  We need to understand the manager's approach to this from a professional football point of view.

You said it much better than I did, Bob, but that's what I meant.

Just listened to the interview with PP

I wish Flynny would ask the question  we want to know, and that is .. What’s happening with the registration of Olly Byrne

Hes not allowed. All questions are vetted

Is that true? I'm surprised if so.

I would be disappointed if they were.

I think vetted carries negative connotations but topics to cover in the interview are discussed before recording, that's entirely commonplace in any interview, in any industry.

Edit (to add): As it's an official club interview it's going to cover certain things, and steer away from others if it is believed to be in our best interests to do so.

Despite our increased stature in the game we do still have barely any external, regular press interest in the football club, such as a weekly set of questions from Altrincham Today or the Messenger (both of which we have to contribute to ourselves to get coverage) or the Manchester Evening News. External reporters from those outlets would be more inclined to ask the more challenging questions, but what I'm saying is don't expect it from the club (Brian Flynn or John Edwards) - I don't think their job is to put it on Parky in their interviews.

I've interviewed Phil quite a few times and never once been told what I can or can't ask him. As Andrew says, there's a certain tone you're looking to strike given it's a club interview rather than an external journalistic one but the interviews I've done have never been 'vetted' in any way.

I think what people are asking is for the Club to be proactive in keeping the fan base up to date with situations which they know they are concerned about.
Even if it's only to tell us that there's no progress in a certain area (unless that plays into the hands of the opposition of course).
