Isle of Man trip
« on: July 18, 2022, 10:01:55 AM »

What a class weekend. I know we all sorted our own travel but a thank you to the club for getting the game on and sorting the dates - can't imagine it was easier.

The atmosphere around the pubs and bars was the complete opposite from our last trip.

Top weekend, a long-distance trip should be a permanent fixture in the pre-season calendar.

Full marks to all the travelling Alty who made the trip!
If we go there again, we'll definitely try to join you.
You never know, IoM could be the next Trafford? 😂

For anyone that was on the delayed ferry back, you can claim a refund by emailing iom.reservations@steam-packet.com

Looks like the playing squad had a good time as well, which is great to see.

Getting that amazing dressing room back like it was in the NLN days (led of course by Jordan) will be hugely important to us.

No refunds being granted, as dictated by the European Union. Neither Great Britain or the Isle of Man are in the EU, but there you go.

“ EU Regulation 1177/2010 concerning the rights of passengers when travelling by sea clearly states that we are not liable for costs incurred  from delays or cancellations caused by adverse weather or extraordinary circumstance beyond our control. Due to the delay to this sailing being caused by a medical emergency on board earlier in the day, which I am sure you will understand is beyond our control. Therefore, we would not be liable to pay any compensation.

Once again we apologise for the delay and any inconvenience caused.”

we’ll at least an apology for the delay and inconvenience caused is of great comfort. Wonder who first coined that empty phrase?

https://www.steam-packet.com/conditionsofcarriage

'30. In the event of a cancelled sailing or delayed sailing likely to exceed 90 minutes after the scheduled departure time Passengers will also be offered the choice between (a) re-routing to the final destination under comparable conditions as set out in these Conditions at the earliest opportunity and at no additional cost or (b) reimbursement of the ticket price. Such reimbursement of the ticket price at the full cost as purchased shall be made within 7 days in cash by electronic bank transfer bank order or bank cheque.  Alternatively if the Passenger agrees the full reimbursement may also be paid in the form of vouchers and/or other flexible services in an amount equivalent to the price for which the ticket was purchased.'

This is puzzling then...

The same EU regulations state provision of food and drink for a delay rather than "thanks for checking in 3 hours early but you can't leave the port"

Someone could have been seriously ill in the lounge it was that warm and they didn't hold up their other duties if care.

No such rules for SNP's Calmac. If the weather stops the sailing we are screwed!
