Went quite a few times to Farrar Road , only saw us lose once , 4-0 and we hit the woodwork 5 times !  We were level at the top with Stafford who had won there 5-1 the previous week . Under Roy Chapman , Stafford went on to win the league and trophy double .

20th September 1972.

Stafford Rangers completed the NPL title and FA Trophy double the previous season though.

Ah yes. That (in)famous Stafford (owzat?) Rangers offside trap routine. I remember it well! 😉

Ah , apologies , you are right Cult it was the season after Staffords double .  Despite their really annoying obsession with playing for offside they had a great team nontheless.
