I must say I'm glad to see the Dunham Brewery represented. I've always felt that I'd like to see their beers on sale at the bar. They sell
one of their beers (XPA) at the Swan with Two Nicks, and jolly nice it is too. I remember they made one for Bowdon church once to commemorate something. Maybe we could commission them to do one for the club one of these days? Definitely if we get in the FL!

All their beers are excellent Hugh. I like the Summer Meadow and Big Tree best. Agree about us stocking them, but think Thwaites may have something to say about that.

Dunham do an Alty Ale.

Don’t think our beers come from Thwaites Steve, their beers are mainly brewed by Marstons these days.

But not sure we actually profit from it.

Aside, to be a decent growing beer festival, we need to be looking beyond the same tired 4 or 5 brewers.

And why in earth is it being announced at 4 days notice.

They used to do "Altrincham Pilsner" but I wasn't aware of one since then.

According to experts Altrincham has the ideal water to make a Pilsner!

Their reputation goes far and wide as a customer here in Largs was waxing lyrical about them the other day!
And he wasn't the first I've had up here!

Agree that it does seem very short notice this year. It's also a shame there isn't some sort of match on over the this period be it first, women, reserves or even the youth side. I wonder if the beer festival and the club would do better if it coincided with our first home friendly for example.

I’ll just go and check the kitchen tap. It tastes pretty weak to me.

The way that the water 💦 rates are going up, it's probably more expensive though 😉

I went on a brewery visit to a place in Staffordshire last autumn. Lymestone which is brewed in Stone. It's about the same size as Dunham.

The head brewer told us that water costs them £10K a year or thereabouts. They brew in an old brewery and still have access to the aquifer via one of the original boreholes. Getting it certified as fit for human consumption will cost £20K but is something that is on their to do list. I'm guessing that availability of ingredients and the energy bill are bigger worries.
