There may be some people who can see merit in the "music" we were subjected to at half time yesterday, but Nom de Plume and I drew the conclusion that, if it was a showcase for local talent, then that commodity is in very short supply.

It might have been less appalling had it not been deemed necessary to "pump up the volume" to a level that made conversation difficult, and which more or less constituted noise pollution.

If Trafford Council showed their ugly faces unexpectedly, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see further sanctions against the club on that basis.
With you on this.
Call me old fashioned, but HT music should be about light entertainment for us punters and not somewhere to showcase unsigned bands....there are other places for that

Too loud also

Go im the sports hall if you want a life draining lack of. Atmosphere
bring back the glory days of some atmosphere pre match.  https://youtu.be/c4q_sjeGifM

You've beaten me to it.
I was just going to post something along those lines! 😂😂

Having said that, it's better to be going on like this whilst the performances of the team speak for themselves.. 😎

Without getting into an interminable argument regarding musical taste, surely the compromise here is just to turn the volume down a bit? It's not Bowlers in 1995.  ;D

And that is EXACTLY the point I'm trying to make.

Should tune in to Radio Robins at HT instead.  Usually some great tunes as witnessed Saturday, when we were treated to some Undertones for example!!

Just play Emerson, Lake and Palmer Fanfare for the Common Man, that's not far short of ten minutes, just time for Ashley Mowers adverts. Lovely.

As someone who suffers badly from anxiety I find loud music highly stressful (one disadvantage of success at ML is bigger crowds - not good for me!)

Being the member of a local musical outfit and long standing Alty fan, I was wondering who it might be I need to contact to investigate the possibility of some half time airplay? Any idea who I speak to?

I don’t imagine this will be an improvement on yesterday however…

If we turn this marketing experiment on its head and ask “where can I play original new music on a sound system which is completely wrong for the full frequency spectrum so the nuances of the music is completely lost; to a demographic audience which is largely disinterested and which is attempting to undertake an objective which is at odds with playing of said music, and made even more difficult the louder and more distorted the music is. I want this to have the desired effect of alienating the audience to my music.”

Bingo! Half-time at Moss Lane fits the bill perfectly.

I'd rather have local up and coming bands than crappy chart music
