Maybe Phil Taylor (or Anthony Taylor for that matter!) can explain this one, but as I understand it (and he said after the game it was accidental), as it was accidental handball and he passed to someone else, the goal stood, but if he had scored himself, it would have been disallowed, whether or not it was accidental. Is this correct?

There's been some daft interpretations of the rules over the years, but if that is the case, I reckon that's one of the worse ones, totally arbitrary.

it is a daft rule. it's football not netball. i dont care whether its accidental or not. if you gain the advantage after the ball hits your hand then its handball. if it hadn't hit his hand he wouldn't have got the cross in (or might have had to work harder to retrieve the opportunity. i'm still smarting from the winning goal burton scored at the pirelli after an "accidental" handball.

If Boro had 'scored' that goal last season it would have been disallowed. Very timely change of the rules!

For me the most nerve racking part of the night was watching Duncan take his penalty. He stuck it in the corner like the pro he is though.
