Brilliant to see this Alty legend in the bar before the game.

Asked him if he had 30 minutes in him

How we could do with someone like his calibre now

Limped right past him in the CSH, but was too exhausted to talk to him. Had to walk through the main stand to get to the loo between Dawn's tuckshop and the CSH and I was badly limping and knackered. Very sorry Ken, recognised him when it was too late as he had already passed me. Felt awful. Standing in front of CSH from now on. Wasn't allowed in family stand and had to go in main stand. Cramped and my hip was lower than my knee which can lead to dislocation, but I was ok. Stewards would not let me sit it family stand as it was away fans only. On the upside, I didn't have crutches or frame, just walking only.

Sorry Kenny, would love to have chatted but I was limping and tired and trying to get through a crowded bar.

The highlight of the afternoon was chatting to Ken both before and during the match, as he was sitting just a couple of seats along from me in the main stand.

Oh, for a striker with his commitment and eye for a goal!

He did say that he was hoping to bring both Harry Wiggins and Paul Rowlands along to an Alty home fixture in the near future.

CRT Butty

Cheers mate, Lacie, her pal Eloise and I did enjoy the game. My hip aches a little today but I am fine with a little rest.

As far as the team are concerned we are just not yet grinding out the results we deserve from our play. Others are right, we do not seem to be able to put the ball in the net. We are likely to do that at an unexpected time against a big club. But we need to get some wins under our belt soon. Our approach play is very good. At a recent meeting Phil said his dream striker to sign would be Michael Cheek. Our defenders kept him at bay yesterday, and for once, he failed to score against us, which says something. We played ok, and some of our movement in the second half was great, but we have to take chances when they come our way.
