Really poor performance tonight. Never got going, passing was woeful and we never looked like winning. Not sure what the Porter offers that makes him a starter in the team when we have the likes of Ben Pringle on the bench.

Weird atmosphere in the ground as well. Shame that half the ground was closed just when we needed the Golf Road noise most.

I think we've flattered to deceive this season and we're now being found out.
Hard to express how devastated I feel now.

Nothing really felt right tonight. Dreamland for the the Gateshead fans who made the trip. Good luck to them and let's hope this ground issue is resolved soon.

Better team won. They closed us down and pressed us throughout and we played poorly.
One of our worst displays for a while and even worse than when we had 14 players out. Far too many stray passes, even our first goal was a gift from their keeper.

That was poor from us tonight. We seemed flat, passing off and never really got going. No doubt the better team won. Weymouth on Saturday is a very big game for me right now. I think the nonsense from Trafford for another thread.

Absolute tripe. We didn't deserve anything. Nobody really comes out of that debacle with any credit, but Fitzpatrick was particularly awful. Tom Peers at least put in a shift, and what PP hoped to achieve by putting on Dinanga in his place I really don't know. The revenue we've lost tonight is a major setback, but that's secondary to the appalling display from the team.

I think we are where we are this season based on a good start to the season .Just like we are out of the FA cup because we were not good enough . My bigger worry now is the total loss of atmosphere in the ground and the 100k revenue loss to start to sort It

Can’t even begin to describe my disappointment at tonight. We were gifted a goal to keep us in the game and still threw it away in one of our worst performances this season. I don’t fault the effort or the endeavour from the lads, who I’m sure are giving it their all, but we were terrible tonight. Bright parts included our second goal where we were actually looking quite dominant until the mistake but we looked vulnerable in defence all evening.

I know we didn’t really have a choice either but it was a real disadvantage to have us all on the Hale End whilst the Gateshead fans had the family stand. No one can really get an atmosphere going on there. Fair play to them they were good value but it’s hard to be complimentary after that. Gutted isn’t the word.

Embarrassing. Not much more to say. Can’t even really say that Gateshead played wildly well. It looked like someone’s first go on FIFA.

Speachless tbh. After a battling display on Saturday to that 1/2 arsed effort. We really don't cope well when teams press the fuk out of us.

Looked like we might get away with when Mooney and Pringle came on.

Didn't deserve the win and questions need asking, Can't remember the last time we won a match with or without the quality players we do have.

Result was inevitable from the moment we were drawn at home in the next round. Was never going to be us playing Charlton

They actually played well

Yes we were quite abject but they defended very vigorously and never really let our players control the ball  get their heads up...anything really.
The Gateshead fitness levels were exceptional

That two footed challenge looked pretty shocking but I was miles away. Was it as dangerous as it seemed?
