I think that it will be interesting to see how supporters are feeling about our prospects after a great start to the season.  In the previous poll conducted by Hugh on 16 August there were a total of 57 respondents and only 3 (a measly 5.3%) said that we would finish in the top 7.

I, myself voted for 12th - 14th, but I am now optimistic enough to go for 2nd or 3rd.  I think that Grimsby or Chesterfield will probably win the title.

So past 2 years, 1.89 or 1.9 PPG has won the title, 1.54 or 1.56 has got you PO spot, 1.4 has got you too half and 1.08 and 0.78.

On that basis, 83 points could see us champions, 66 see us Playoffs, 61 points Top Half and anywhere between 33 and 40 sees us going down, however, Divers predicament may tweak that.

I think we'll finish at least top half; we were on the beach last season once we started playing in a different county...

I said we could finish anywhere between 8th and 18th at the start of the season and I maintain that view, although obviously with far more optimism about the top end of that scale.

So much football left to play. Fascinating season ahead. If we can keep going and establish ourselves amongst the pack coming out of Christmas, who knows?

My main worry is that the season will catch up with us and we'll begin to tire but I said a few posts back that this is the fittest squad we've probably ever had.

It will be interesting to see how we perform when we have a run of suspensions and knocks, always happens at some stage. There will always be a lot of talk about our attackers but for me it's critical that we can keep Hannigan, Mullarkey and Moult fit for the season. They've been immense as a reliable base to build on.

I predict a respectable 12th.

We've got a bigger and even better quality squad than last year so I'm going for a top half finish.

Looking a bit different to my poll! I still worry that we will tail off towards the end of the season with a part time squad so I think the play offs may be beyond us this season, though it's certainly a possibility in the next few years if we continue to progress towards full time. There's often not very much between 8th and 15th, so a lot will depend on injuries and keeping our key players. Personally I will be delighted with a first top half finish since 1995, and a solid base to build on for next season.

I fancy a crowd poll would look different now too. Better than what I feared so far. Fingers crossed it holds up.

One minute we're at risk of going down (having not even started recruitment at the time) - and the next we're playoff contenders.

We clearly signed the experienced lads so the downturns in form might not be quite so pronounced - but they will come, I guarantee it.

This thread will look silly again if we lose three on the bounce - which is more than feasible.

For what it's worth, yes I agree we're stronger - I'm going for a firm mid-table finish, around 12th.
