Re Bear Town:

Alty ... secure a fee from the buying club that would immediately be made available in full to the manager for reinforcements.

If you look at Josh Lundstrom (just one example) when he went back to the Football League we were no better off

Firstly, good luck to him - he deserves it
Secondly, surely we're due a fee - otherwise why would Mansfield have bothered to include a sell-on for a contract that was only due to last a few months?

Gutted to hear Smith has left Alty... one of the best players last season...

He can obviously play at a higher level & we wish him well at Sutton in the EFL & for the future...

Whilst I enjoyed watching Ali's graceful performances on the pitch and will miss him now he's gone, I trust in Phil and Neil to replace him, as they have done other players.

No player is bigger than the club, and we will replace him. At least Phil and Neil have much more time before the season starts, not like what happened with Jordan last season.

Best of luck at Sutton Ali, and thanks for the memories mate. Sad to see him go, but players of his quality will always move on eventually.
