Fair result I think although we should have scored at least 2. Going to have to point the finger at Thompson for the goal. That's another goal scored from outside the box.

Bell was horrific and can't possibly start on Monday. Much better when Hancock came on. Kirby impressed again.

No idea why Hardy is sat on the bench and Peers is playing

Yes.
Simply put, with a decent striker we could be a comfortable top ten team.
Without one, and with our style of football well sussed out, we'll be bottom eight and in for a gruelling season.

Agree with 'Cult'... when Hancock came on we looked far more dangerous... also agree about Notts County - will be good to go there next season for an Away game if don't go up...

Still wondering where Kosylo is as he was meant to be almost fit several weeks back... is he still injured?

Wonder who'll be available for Monday's game...

Think for rest of season may as well play with no sole striker up front as we all know they can't score whoever fulfills that role... think we should play 4,3,3 (not 4,2,3,1)...

Personally think midfield three in 4,3,3 should be...
Smith, Moult, Kirby...

Then attacking three in 4,3,3 be...
Hardy/Kosylo,  Hancock,  Colclough...

Can always review attacking option next season if we sign a decent striker in the summer... BUT at present we have shown we do not have a striker who can find the net...

Not sure what to make of today... defo would have taken draw before ko but we had chances in 2nd half to win it today... however, it was a better performance... though still have the season long problem of scoring...

Notts County didn't look like promotion contenders... not a great game, but it stopped the run of defeats... gutted to concede at end of 1st half again, but 2nd half we had enough chances with Smith, Senior, Colclough, and especially Peers at the end... we must find a decent goalscorer in the summer (as previously said by many)...

That's a pretty accurate synopsis.

Some golden chances during that second half but at least our recent malaise has been eased a little.

I thought that Notts County were rather woeful, particularly considering their current status as alleged play-off contenders. Pedestrian sideways passing, no sense of urgency, no width and feeble attackers. On that evidence, I strongly suspect that we will be in the same division as them next season, so at least I'll get the chance to attend an Alty away day at Meadow Lane.

As for Nyal Bell and the enduring curse of the central striker position, I'm afraid that this afternoon he looked about as mobile and threatening as those shopping trolleys that were located in front of the TV gantry on the Popular Side. We were much better when Hancock came on.

Best No 9 I've seen this season

4-2-1-3 with Kirby as the link as the "1"

Not the greatest of games and in the end thought the draw was probably the fairest result, though we could have well sneaked a win with those chances in the 2nd half not being taken. Notts County looked a pretty ordinary team with little creativity upfront and we dealt with them well. I also wondered, during the quiet parts of the game, whether Tesco realise we have two of their shopping trollies in the Popular Side....

Notts County have won just 2 of 10 games since sacking Neal Ardley. They looked average (if I'm kind to them) so clearly the sacking was a shocking piece of misjudgement by their board.

Ardley their best decision!

Worst since Hereford sacked that manager who got them promotion. Though Hughton at Brighton was pretty shabby. And Clough at Derby (Nigel not Brian)

Match report up:

Seems to be very little mention on here that we should have won it at the death

I didn't watch yesterday - how did Mooney get on?

Seems to get a fair bit of stick on occasion on this forum but I think he's a great asset when fully fit.

He was OK but still not his best, I don't get how he's getting starts over Hardy
