Regrettably a fair number of those ship outs are on 2-year contracts - Piggott's in particular is looking like the worst piece of business we've ever done.

Maybe we gave Pigott that contract on the basis that he might score a goal towards the end of 18 months. If we have to pay up the contract we should do that.

Think on the ship out list are approx 10...

Gould
Dens - sadly
Sutton
White
Williams
Ceesay
Adarbioyo
Peers
Bell (loan)
Plus one of Miller or Salmon
Plus maybe Piggott if get in couple of strikers in summer.

NB think we need a top striker (plus maybe a 2nd forward), a good centre back, plus a holding midfielder to partner Smith... plus maybe a top keeper & have TT as a back up...

This is a sensible list.

Whilst some might be tempted to go further than this, a quick reminder that whilst we were never realistically promotion candidates, we're not suddenly the worst team in the world either.  Funny thing, "form". Some on this forum don't understand it.

Hopefully Parky viewed the positive from yesterday as affirming some decisions he had in his mind.

3 wins in 17 is a major decline.

...so the answer is to sweep the decks and start again? Give me strength.

It surely hasn't gone unnoticed that the lack of a settled team has been a major contributor?

Surely we need to evolve, rather than a cull. A cull would be very dangerous. I'm sure Parky is looking how to evolve us, he's learning a lot I would hope with the players he's rotating. Some haven't played for months so will need time to get to speed again. I'm sure Parky will take that into account.

If you translated 3 wins in 17 to the start of a season the league table wouldn’t make comfortable reading. Unless we’d drawn the other 14.

The rot set in when we started to get injuries. In a few cases players were deliberately taken out by the opposition. Willo was one but there were others.Bringing in loanees comes with its own risks.

Unpresidented levels of injuries at regular intervals have not helped this season, nor the amount of loanees as a result... only few loanees ok...

Bulging squad, with several needing shipping out in the summer plus 3-5 new faces required ie defo 1 decent striker (probably two), a good centreback, a good holding midfielder to challenge Moult & potentially partner Smith, plus if can get a top top keeper that would be a bonus (keep TT as a back up)...

What if you translated our winning run in there instead? What's your point?
