I assume it's to do with not being able to play home friendlies because of the pitch works - generally friendlies are played at the ground of the lower ranked team, so that's why we're playing NLN/Evostik opponents. agreed. As Toff Apple suggested York are lower ranking and a great place for a day out. I do note they’ve moved from Bootham Crescent to Huntington which is about 3.5 miles from the station which would require further research. Be a new ground to tick off though smile 😃

Buddy of mine lives close by. Extremely limited parking, behind a shopping centre but there is a park and ride nearby. You'll struggle to get a bus back to York centre after a night game as the P&R stops. At least two pubs by Bootham cres planning mini buses to try and retain some pre and post match trade.

A new ground that sounds similar to Chester.

Even better golf course in Millport, endorsed by Nick Faldo, who said you need one leg longer than the other because of the slopes!

TWO GAMES ON SAT JULY 24TH...

Alty have arranged a 2nd pre-season fixture for Saturday July 24th at West Didsbury & Chorlton FC.

Kick-off is at Noon at the Step Places Stadium.

Phil Parkinson & Neil Sorvel will spit their squad between this game & the 3pm kick-off at Ashton United on the same day. the opening day of our pre-season fixture schedule.

I think it's just the way it is this year. We would usually finish our run of psf's with a couple of strong squad league teams but I believe they kick off the season a couple of weeks before us and would be at a different stage of preparation.
The club have already said that next year will be different when the seasons are more synchronised.
