Signing National League North players on loan
« on: February 22, 2021, 05:56:22 PM »

I note that Stockport County have announced the signings of Chorley duo Harry Cardwell and the former Alty winger Elliot Newby on loan until the end of the season:

Is this a potential route for us to explore, particularly in the ongoing quest to boost our firepower?

I hope this isn't where some on here propose the return of Jordan Hulme.
I loved him when he played for us, but that's in the past. He chose to move on and so should we.
There must be a number of strikers out there who could do a job for us.

PS. You jumped in while I was typing TTB! 😂😂😉

I'd have Scott Leather back but I don't think we need him

Glendon and Dudley on loan from Chester would be amazing but can't see it happening tbh.

According to Jonos' twitter a club enquired about them both, sent away with a flee in their ear.  If it's true or not who knows

I'm not sure what Jonno would have to lose. Glendon signed a new contract yesterday and Dudley is one of his most loyal players. If he's worried about injuries, surely not playing for so long is worse.

Yes, they were alluding to a club giving 7 days notice so they have put them both on contracts.  I wondered if it was us, could easily have been Wrexham, stockport , chesterfield or fylde though

So they both could still be available to loan then? Yes, it probably was Stockport.

I'm with you on that, I don't know if his head would be right if he came back.

It's going to be an absolute free-for-all.

The names that sprung to mind for me were Glendon and Weeks (until they signed their deals), Dudley, Leather and Newby. Gutted about Newby but I doubt we would have been able to compete with Stockport.

Has Dudley signed a deal? Haven't seen that.
