Funds and ground improvements
« on: December 01, 2020, 03:44:04 PM »

Bill,

Purely out of interest and hopefully without sounding daft, are we still getting the entire agreed support funds until fans are back in?

Any news on the ground improvements? More so the FanZone please. Perfect time to get it done if the finances still allow.

TIA.

Any update on ground improvements?

Have they continued or stopped?

I know a lot of work has been done in the Sponsors Lounge and that the Fanzone "pods" are ready and delivery/installation of them is imminent.

Sounds promising.

There is some noise being made at Chester with regard to funding. They are arguing that the grants were only to cover the period up until the end of last year. When they were persuaded to start playing there was no mention of loans but unless there is more money forthcoming they are facing some difficult decisions.

I suspect further belt tightening will be necessary. Spending money on the ground is not a priority for me unless there are timebound grants associated with it.

Yes i'm worried about that as well, loans would be a problem i think as its unsustainable to take out loans to pay wages without a plan to return to crowds.  Hoping there is some in the pot to tide us through, i'm sure other clubs who have spent more will be in significant trouble

There is a lot hinging on the vaccine rollout, it's efficacy in stopping illness and, so knows, transmission. It's the only show in town. I am confident that Easterish will be a significant turning point. We should assume no crowds until next season, any earlier is a bonus. Stark.
