Presume we are in the lower category, 16 clubs, for the National League support.

Based on last year's attendance, and money per supporter, we seem to come off much better than a lot of clubs.
Another reason I'm glad the board didn't shirk the opportunity compete in the playoffs.

The other clubs in the top bracket, hopefully will be able to keep office staff and other off-the-field staff on furloug/in employment.

Seems like a great deal for us!
Even better for Borehamwood but not so great for the likes of Chester.

Surely we'll be better off financially than when crowds return?
(recognise it's only short term)

The fact that we will be receiving £48k per month more than Chester does rather induce a smug grin.

Very good deal for us. Wonder what would have happened if it had been announced a few weeks earlier....maybe Macc would have survived???

Were Macc actually in financial trouble when they got promoted in '97? I'm sure that was the rumour on the coach to Irthlingborough.

Their chairman was putting substantial sums into the club and his own business was failing at the same time, he took his own life earlier in the season.

They then faced having to repay the money which was about half a million. I don't know what happened to the debt but had they not got into the league they wouldn't have had the TV money and sponsorship that came with it and they saw it through.

As for surviving this time with the financial support, no chance. They were screwed long before. It's a very good deal for us though compared to other clubs.

Other reasons notwithstanding, football is never worth that.
