 :D

All the players are in credit from that performance. Special mention to the ref and the Altrincham Curling Team!

Yes, wasn't expecting the synchronised swimming at half time.

I'm really not convinced that the referee should have started that game

Alas, it was an almost inevitable utter washout as a spectacle, in every sense of the word.

Both teams merited a point.

Aside from the obvious abyss left by the sudden departure of Hulme, I remain somewhat troubled by the failure to bolster central midfield in the absence of Lundstram.

I think once Weymouth had made the journey the ref was always going to play, especially after the fiasco at (was it?) Spennymoor.

Totally agree about centre mid: all the 3 there are good, but I fear they could be picked apart by the best Nat league teams. Lundstram made such a significant difference. Maybe Mullarkey might fill that gap as I thought he didn't out a foot wrong today.

Indeed, Mullarkey was my MOM. I thought the ref did well. A draw was fair. We need more punch up front, preferably before Wednesday night.

Agree with all of this. Two newly promoted sides it was always going to be a cagey affair & then the rain exacerbated that. Notts County on Weds should show us the real level we need to reach. A draw was fair & we defended very well but definitely need to carry more of a threat going forward.

I think everybody played well today - Kysolo and Ceesay look like they will provide a threat once they have someone to aim for. I thought Williams did well too, as did both centre halves. We're not bad, but we do need to spend some of the Hulme cash fairly quickly.

As others have said, a huge well done to everybody involved in getting that game on today.

Fair play to the ref and both teams in getting the game played to a conclusion. I reckon if it had been a local team playing us then  it wouldn’t have gone ahead which is fair enough

We played with 8 sweepers today . They all played a blinder at half time..
Happy with a point.

Don't think we could have asked for much more than a point today, it's very difficult to create chances in those conditions and I don't think either team ever looked like they were going to score, a draw is a fair result.

Hard to properly draw conclusions on performances from today but I can imagine Parky will be looking to reinvest the money from Hulme into a striker and central midfielder and maybe another winger if there's any money leftover.  Today we missed Lundstram as much as we missed Hulme in my opinion although Toby did a fantastic job at switching the ball and passing it long in very difficult underfoot conditions.  My man of the match and not surprised to see others share the same view.

Hopefully a surface that better suits us on Wednesday at Notts (who lost to Dover today), a point there would be absolutely massive.  Hopefully an update on Mooney some time soon.

Loathe to criticise anyone owing to the conditions today but I've thought for a while that Tom Peers isn't really up to the job. Dont mind if people think otherwise but he's never convinced me.
