It seems they want to quit the English leagues and play back in the Welsh leagues next season .

other interesting non league news ive noticed this week

Gateshead and macc players not been paid

chester cant appeal a red card because they had to appeal within 7 days of the incident but the ref failed to file his report until 8 days after.

ashton adding a sq metre for the officials cganging room and painting lines on their terraces to avoid relegation when they will probably get relegated anyway...

As I understand it the Colwyn Bay potential move is based on finances (or lack of) - the suggestion seems to be that if they stayed in the English system they might go out of business in a couple of years. Presumably the FA of Wales will make them some kind of welcoming financial gesture? Based on what I saw of Connah's Quay Nomads against Edinburgh City in the Irn Bru Cup a fortnight ago the playing standard of the top Welsh league is pretty low, given that CQ were leading that league at the time, so it might almost be held to be a drop down in footballing terms for the Bay!

They should have no problem getting qualified referees in the Welsh league.  ;)

Assistant manager to Jon Macken at Radcliffe. I doubt that was in his career plan somehow.

Back to Colwyn Bay, there is a reorganisation coming up in Welsh football with tier 2 clubs having to be licensed, so I think that will give an opportunity for them to get a place there without pushing existing clubs' noses out of joint. The Cymru Alliance would be a drop in playing standard, I am sure, but local derbies against Bangor City and Rhyl should get good turnoutsat least.

Now confirmed that Colwyn Bay will return to Welsh Football next season although which league is still to be decided.

I remember playing Colwyn Bay away at Northwich in the FA Cup the year we went on to play Chester. I think they'd been barred from playing the tie in Wales for some reason, possibly politics with the Welsh FA? It's also the last occasion I can remember a tie going to more than one replay as I think it took a second replay at Moss Lane to eventually settle it.
