RIP Kenny Palin

It is with great sadness that Altrincham FC has learned of the death of legendary supporter Kenny Palin who, over his many years of supporting the Club, became well-known to many of our opponents' clubs as well as our own. Kenny passed away at 6.30am this morning in hospital, with his sister in attendance. Despite ill health in recent years Kenny continued to support the Robins

Another terrible loss for the club

So many memories of Kenny its difficult to know where to start

Always had time to chat and always asked me how my daughter was

As a teenager Kenny was a huge vocal support behind the goal with his legendary Zigga zagga zigga zagger and such ditties as a lady who swallowed a fly

And from my days on the coaches .. are we there yet driver

I mean you could write a book on this guy he loved sport and was known throughout the town

You will be sorely missed Kenny

RIP

I last saw him a couple of weeks ago, when he told me he'd had a pacemaker fitted. He didn't look well then, and news of his passing is no real surprise.

I'd known Kenny since we were kids, and he was a genuine character who will be sadly missed. There are hundreds of memories of a guy who was larger than life.

Gutted a legend at Altrincham fc and town, Remember walking the Alty festival with Kenny on the float and he got more cheers than the club himself.
RIP mate.

Very sad news. Like many others he was a Moss Lane constant for me since I started going 30 years ago. True Altrincham character.

Very sad news, Kenny always had a hello for everyone. Working in  Ashton-under-Lyne I saw Kenny walking the street, he came over and said hello and we chatted about Alty (it was the week before the second Spurs game), I asked him why he was in Ashton, his reply was "sightseeing why else !"  top guy.

Sorely missed and I hope there's a Zigga Zagga from the terrace at the next home game.

Very sad news. Kenny seemed to have been around the club for as long as I can remember.

How many football supporters can claim to have a terrace chant associated directly to them ?

One memory was of seeing him at the National Botanic Garden of Wales in Camerthern a couple of years ago, and his look of surprise, that despite being so far from home, someone had recognised him. Not only that he still had his Alty scarf and hat on !

RIP Kenny, and condolences to family and friends.

Very sad news. A truly top fellow, and absolutely sports mad. He always stopped for a chat at Alty games, and whenever I saw him at Timperley Cricket Club. He never missed a trick, and always asked how the girlfriend was and who Ashley ( who I play for) were playing this week.

So many good memories of Kenny, you can’t help but smile when you think of him.

One of my favourites has to be coming back from an away game, geographically south of Alty, on the coach. The car craft of Rochdale advert came on the radio and Kenny turned round and yelled to Ecky, “Mark! MARK! THERES BEEN A CAR CRASH IN ROCHDALE!”

Rest in Peace Kenny, you’ll be sadly missed.
