maybe we are going to switch to 352 with dens and white and wing backs , with bembo hannigan and harrison at the back , explains why sheridan is out

Just my thought but that would be a terrible idea and you would have Jones over Bembo-Leta at centre back.

Sheridan just needs fitness and we have Harrop who is playing well as cover.

We do seem to have too many full backs. I would like to see Disney get fit as he was solid and looked decent in pre season. Dens has been playing well at right back.

I also think Short is decent. All of our defenders are decent for this level. We needed a striker over a full back.

I like our current formation, just need to have the no.10 closer to Hulme and have faith in Moult and Richman to deal with the mid.

Our full backs arent getting forward as much as earlier on in the season.  Maybe because Short was good at that and had pace,Dens is better than Bembo-Leta at getting forward. All depends on the player in that position but I would like to see them get forward more. Hampson nearly scored at the end against Warrington. Plus it is an overlap for when the likes of JJ cut in. It would open teams up.

We paid for Andy "Spud Van" McDonald as well, but I can't remember if that was before or after Peter Band.

Andy (right) is a skilful central midfielder who signed for Altrincham from Witton Albion in late July, 2002 for a small fee, reportedly provided by a club benefactor.

Peter (left) signed from Hyde United for a small fee in July 2002.

I'd say McDonald just. Seem to remember both fees were only 1k?
was Keith russell our record ever aquisition ?

I thought we paid 3k for "Spud Van", but I might be wrong.

If we'd paid 3K for the whole of last season's squad it would have been a rip off.

Do you not think that our way of playing in recent weeks has had to adapt to the pitch conditions, i expect us to be brought closer to the other clubs over xmas and january but be back to slick fast passing march and april

I think the pitch is a leveller at this time of year. When you are playing hoofball you don't have to worry about the pitch but with our style of football it is a factor.
