Yes, he seems to be proving to be a very sound appointment, let's hope results reflect the current optimism!

Maybe the board got something right for a change,....?

Rob the data guru would know better but I think statistically they were due a good appointment...

Another honest assessment from the manager regarding last night's game on the main site.

All managers at this level love saying (after a win) how they have high standards though.

Probably true . I just can't remember it being applied to us

There should be something that sheds light on the James Jones situation in the next 10 minutes or so.

We'll have a higher player turnover rate than last season the way it's going!  ;D

Slightly disappointing but I suppose we can hardly afford to carry four centre halfs. And given that Hannigan is most likely contracted and on a high wage (I don't think I'm talking out of school or saying less than obvious facts there?) then he has to be one of the three, although as you'll have noticed I have grave doubts about his fitness and we could potentially find ourselves short there. I guess Moult should be able to cover there at this level though.

It's all very new ground for us this though isn't it, watching the manager decide on which decent player who could do a job he has to release.

I get that it's easier to do at this level but it's quite different to us discussing who is the sh*ttest. Jim Harveys weekly centre halves from the midlands seem like a lifetime ago.

I've actually managed to talk to someone at work about Alty in the last couple of weeks without feeling the sense of awkwardness it has brought in recent times.  Told him we've got a decent manager now and some decent players and we could be in for a good season.  I'll ramp up the confidence a few games in (hopefully) as I still believe there will be 4-5 decent teams in this league who are not going to allow anything to be a walkover.

Been very impressed with the manager so far.

Quite a contrast to the embarrassment I felt when one of the ladies at work told me that her husband and son won free tickets to a game last season and they left at half time as it was so bad.  There is a lot of repair work to do...

Much depends on Hannigan and Miller getting fit and staying fit. Both Jones and Wright would have been perfect for a promotion push.
