Coming back when they start pre season training to show GH how fit he is and then its down to GH to decide.

It depends how you look at it I suppose:

If he has got himself fit and gets a good pre-season I think it would be a brilliant signing.

On the other hand, if he fails to prove his fitness levels are up to the required level GH won't sign him and we haven't lost anything.

It's a no lose situation for us in my eyes. A fully fit Potts would scare the pants off most teams in this league.

Potts is a fantastic player if fit.

Would you prefer we signed an inferior player that hasn't played for us before just so we are able to claim we are a 'forward-thinking' club?

I agree Jimmy, it's quite a luxury to already know that if a "new" player is fit enough they also have the ability. Like I said, if he's not fit enough he won't be signed on, simple as.

I'm all for Potts coming back.  Great player and we know just what he can do if he gets fit. If he doesn't then nothing lost, no contracts to pay up or chips to buy.

Potts if you're reading this you fat fool, I wish it was just kebabs that was stopping me from playing for Alty.  Sort yourself out son and get back here.

Can anyone actually prove that Colin Potts has ever been technically "fit"?

I mean, even when he was at his peak for us, he always seemed to be carrying a few surplus pounds.

If he can get himself anywhere near where he was in 2004/05 that will do for me. A fit Potts will add 10 goals a season to Colin Little's tally IMO.

Imagine a team with Potts on the wing and Lawton in centre midfield alongside Bushell! That would be awesome!

Hi guys, the rumour is true that i may be coming back to Altrincham FC. After working very hard on my fitness over the last 6 weeks i am currently in America on trial at Real Salt Lake in the MLS. I am here for 2 weeks with the potential of staying. If all fails you will see a fit pottsy once and for all( with no injuries at last). ;D.
