This week's Messenger

Back page : big illustrated article on ladies match, and biggish piece on today's schoolkids initiative.

Inside back page : much smaller piece on last week's win at Boston.

No mention of the walk out.

Thinking about it you're right. After all, it would constitute local news, and the Messenger is only really an advertising tool these days.

The Messenger carried the story in their online edition, and social media accounts, over a week ago.

Quite why anyone would think that it wouldn't be appropriate for a local news outlet to report on local issues is slightly beyond me. But each to their own.

Sorry...I forgot that people on here have trouble with irony. And the main thrust of my original post was actually the ladies team and the kids initiative taking what ought to be prime back page space at the expense of the first team.

I don't read the online version, or do social media. It's an old git thing I'm afraid.

Sorry for any confusion. The post above was aimed at D.I.M.'s comment suggesting that the story shouldn't be covered locally, and not your original post.

It's another clear indication of how far we have fallen that we are only small inside news now
