Mass clear out please

It was astonishing to see a man of almost 40 -Gary jones- put virtually all the other alty players to shame with a committed and honest performance. Shame on them- they are not fit to wear the shirt and should be cleared out  en masse. Now we are almost certainly relegated why not play the best half dozen youth players to the end of the season together with whatever adult reserves who are prepared to put an honest shift in!!!

Think this train of thought has been aired on a previous thread

Our team are sh*t and we should be preparing for next season, but let's go about it the right way. Signing young players like Kyle Bronwhill seems to be the way to go, there might be one or two in the reserves I've not seen them this season. But throwing random players in from the youth team because they will "put a shift in" isn't going to help anyone.

But what is the point if brownhill etc wont stay when we go down, are we sure we are preparing for next season or still throwing the kitchen sink at this disaster

I could be wrong, but I assumed he'd been signed on the basis of next season. I don't see any point spending money on the team this season, we are doomed. I'm broadly in agreement with the cut all costs philosophy but with all due respect I don't think the youth team is the way to go.

Maybe Gary Jones is just a class above. I remember watching Frank Worthington playing in a testimonial for Mansfield Town against Aston Villa. He was a good ten years older than everyone else but oozed class.

I'm sorry but (can't be bothered checking for the appropriate thread so I'll say it here) we need to keep chucking good money after bad I'm afraid. We can't afford to give up until it's mathematical impossible. We're only going down to the evo stik league, we've got enough revenue streams and fan base to cover that when it happens (even with the hit they'll take). We simply can't throw in the towel.

I'd get Dino Maamria on the phone. Tell him he's got a war chest and a massive bonus if he succeeds and get him to get us fighting, snapping and snarling up. There's too much indulgence all over the shop and it's just continuing with Doughty and Lawton (and Heathcote).

This team needs fitness and confidence and a few additions to be a decent side.

My personal view is keep most of them and look forwards to bouncing straight back....if we have a good season home crowds will hold up...we will have to budget for a loss of the big away followings......

Id keep Patterson brownhill hannegan McWilliams brownhill jones miller reeves lawrie and clee ,,,,fill in the blanks with new talent.
