Blyth Spartans - Match Thread
« on: November 23, 2016, 10:14:54 AM »

Alty 8/5
Draw 3/1
Blyth 11/10

Appreciate a lot won't bother on Saturday, but I still value the fa trophy as a cup to win. So hopefully some people will turn out for it.

Same starting 11 as Saturday except I'd put Deasey in goal, this line up is dependent on wether we sign a forward or a winger by Saturday

Wouldn't it be nice if a couple of our players remember the embarrassment with BBC coverage at their place and got stuck in.

3-1 to the Alty

The momentum gathers.

I notice Blyth scored 11 last night. Obviously Bedlington Terriers aren't world beaters, but it must also be borne in mind that Blyth would go top if they won their game in hand. So they're effectively one place below us in the pyramid.

I'm continuing to vote with my feet. Can't see us getting a result, especially since they still have our Nemesis Robbie Dale.

I'm going to stick my neck out here. I actually think we'll beat Blyth reasonably comfortably, so long as Jim doesn't muck around with the team who was very comfortable for 86 minutes at Alfreton.

Same starting 11 for me. Actually think Dawber has done ok last 3 few games and Deaseys fitness worries me.

2-1 Alty

I'll be there

They are 3rd in the league below us - should be a pretty level game. We tend to do well against them at home; we have a 100% failure rate against them in cup-ties, but they've all been away matches. Morpeth beat them on the way to playing us in the Cup. If we play the same starting XI as last Saturday (give or take a goalkeeper), employ the same system throughout the game & show the spirit & determination evident at Alfreton we should have a decent chance. Anything else & we're going for glory in the Senior Cup ...
I note from the website that admission prices are to be the same as v Morpeth. Omen (said he, clutching at straws again)?

Sick of posting doom and gloom posts....

3-2 Alty. Lets send the Spartans back up the A1 defeated, deflated and depressed,..

It would be nice to drive back to Shrewsbury with a smile on my face again.

Shorter journey from York, cold Tuesday night in December, probability of yet another humiliation......I think I'll join Wayno in awaiting your post-match summing up  :D

Sadly Tuesdays are my busiest night of the week.

OK - so we're going to win tomorrow...
