Harrogate - match thread
« on: August 11, 2016, 06:39:16 PM »

Games coming thick and fast, hopefully the defensive cover will be in place in time for Saturday. By the sounds of things a large away following will be heading over to Harrogate on Saturday. Hopefully we can get three points on the plastic pitch.

You can buy your tickets in advance here

Id change things around from Tuesday night on the pitch but who and what depends on who's fit

Went today. My first game of the season, therefore hard to really comment on players improvement or otherwise.

What I can comment on was the pitch, I've never ben in favour of plastic pitches and nothing I saw today changed that view.  The bounce generally looked high, yet when on a low trajectory it skidded through lower than on grass.

They called that a "3G" pitch, I recall watching QPR in the mid 80s on a plastic pitch where the bounce was ludicrous, in thirty years and three generations on the problems has only been reduced, not removed.

Not in favour.

And I read that they watered it, why is there a need to do that unless you are trying to move the goalposts against a team not used to such a surface?

Perhaps to reduce the high bounce? I am at a loss as to why plastic grass is watered. Could it just be a wind up? Weird.

Wonder if the watering is to keep the black dust that kicked up when the ball hit the pitch down?
