The Barnsley 836
« on: November 06, 2015, 10:43:56 PM »

Just been told that Barnsley have only sold 836 tickets, that includes the 190 in the family stand.
Would love that to be confirmed.
If that is true.
I don't know what is going on at Barnsley.
They were saying when the draw was made, that they would sell their allocation, no problem.

To be fair that is a very decent turnout sides probably take less in early rounds of cup than the Leauge at that level I can't believe people thought they would sell 1500 tickets

I know what you are saying Jimmy, but their average league gate is 8,500

It's 10% of the home following for a game they are less bothered about than a Leauge game forums will always overrate followings I'd say it's quite good

I heard that it was about 800, so 836 is probably correct.

I think that we would be in more of a position to pass judgment on Barnsley's away following if we had actually sold out our own allocation.

They've lost 5000 fans since I saw them humped 5 love at the Etihad in the FA Cup Quarters 3 years ago then.

There was never even the slightest possibility that would happen.

I'm not sure but I would estimate about 1700-1800.

very disappointing, that must be our worst ever turnout for an FA cup 1st round tie? Defo worst against a league team

Not really, Millwall in 2007 attracted around 2,500, I think we will have more than that. Disappointingly as it is not to reach 3,000 I think we should just get on with the game.

Interestingly, the Guiseley play off game attendance superseded everyone's expectations so clearly the scope is there.

Anyway...
