Police say there has got to be complete segregation.
Can't argue with that.
They now only have 190 seats.

Good, should always be the case for big games, I understand people like the family stand however safety has to come first, hopefully this will be the way we do it in future so away fans aren't simply wandering around the ground unchecked.

This is the correct decision. 100% with that.

Hallelujah!

I did express my surprise at the main stand being unsegregated for the Barnsley fixture on this forum a few days ago and wondered just what the police thought about that scenario.

The correct decision is finally reached.

And should be adhered to for all matches where segregation is required.

Again, 100% agreement.  Anything else is making a mockery of segregating the terrace.

Here's hoping for sensible segregation

Here's hoping for sensible segregation

There has been an additional barrier built in the final third of the pop side.

It may be the case Barnsley have "1/6th" of the pop side, with 1/6th for segregation. And 2/3rd for altrincham (like for chester)

This additional physical barrier would have prevented chester getting up against the fence. So good work by the club getting that built. Hopefully it's permenant and will aid stewards, plus give them that extra but of flexibility if ever required.

Think its probably best for us if we just stay on the Golf Road for the full game next Saturday. It's a better view from there than it is at the half way line segregation.

A +1 vote for me not having them in the main stand - I might get a seat AND feel like I'm in the right end with Alty fans surrounding me !

What about the people who sit in the family stand because they are unable to make it up the main stand (i.e. quite a few elderly people).

They will be on Alty's substitutes' bench alongside Nicky Clee.

I thought the subs bench in recent weeks had become the place where youngsters watched the game from :)
