I'm not sure there was a need for such a statement unless GR is trying to keep the bbc sweet to be honest. Goes without saying we didn't turn money down and we hardly need to know if we weren't picked for something.

I'm much happier with Saturday 3pm, it was good for the Blyth game as it was a bonus for something not ripe for live TV.

We need to concentrate on getting on with ticket selling.

Luckily with the community hall being open all through weekdays we've got a highly visible avenue through which to sell extra tickets

How about increasing the cost of the tickets for away fans sections? Premier and League clubs do this depending on who they play.

Only if the away club agrees. I doubt they will.

Apparently FCUM have written to the FA objecting to the Monday night ko, so you never know...

You can't charge away fans any more than home fans. Premier League teams grade their games and ticket prices change accordingly but the away fans never pay more than the home fans sat in similar seating.

Gate receipts are split 50/50 once all expensive for the match have been covered,
Its only in play offs or finals its a 3 way split.

Question... How come FCUM have been told that their game is on a Sunday?
Yet Barnsley decided they would only play Saturday and the FA accept that as ok

Definite tail wagging the dog scenario here

That's explained in the club statement - the FA has the right to oblige sides to accept fixture changes for live TV coverage but not for close-to-live highlights as per the Sunday games.

Don't know if this has been mentioned before and I may be way off the mark here...............but is there any chance we could provide the BBC with footage via Alty TV and still get a fee for it ?
Would we need Barnsley's consent?

I know it will cause Alty TV's Mark a whole load of extra work to do on top of the excellent work he does already and I am not suggesting that it would be easy........but the club could get some cash and Alty TV could recoup some the personal investment money put into providing the filming and editing equipment..............or am I just talking bo77ocks

Cheers Leon.... One hard and fast rule stating either you play as told by the FA or the clubs can decide. Less ambiguity..

However. Once again TV calling the shots

According to Sam Elliott (NLP journo) on twitter, we've been selected to be broadcast live overseas...

Quote
FA Cup update.Wealdstone & Alty both get £6,750 as games selected for TV (highlights & overseas) All clubs shifted to Sundays 2pm get £12.5k

It's still 11 v 11 whenever it's played.  Win it and let's get on telly in R2.

If they want to turn £12.5k down that's their choice but if they want to force us to turn it down they should cough up so we are not out of pocket as a result of their decision, happy for them o offset our overseas money so that's £6k you owe us please

I can see why they didn't want to play on a Sunday.

Not the biggest crime ever, but I'm not sure we should have issued this statement - looks a bit petulant.

I think Grahame is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't here in all fairness. The club is sometimes accused of not being open enough with fans and I suspect that if this statement had not been issued there would have been people asking why we hadn't done more to try and persuade Barnsley to agree to the move. As it is, a statement has been put out clarifying what happened and some people are now saying it was unnecessary to provide this information. If he had put out a statement saying "Those idiots at Barnsley have cost us £12,500" then, yes, I could see the inappropriateness of it, but I think as fans we have a right to know that we've (once again) been done out of a considerable lump of tv money through no fault of our own.
